Renaissance: A Tribute to Oscar Peterson

This recording is dedicated to pianist Oscar Peterson-one of the most prolific musicians of the twentieth century. A consummate artist and performer, Peterson’s artistry has influenced pianists worldwide. Renaissance is not an attempt to render a stylistic recreation of Peterson’s unrivaled pianistic prowess. Rather, it is a tribute to his musicianship and creativity. The compositions contained in this recording reflect various elements of Peterson’s style and technique. While we have lost one of the greatest musical innovators of our time in Oscar Peterson, Renaissance is but one embodiment of the “rebirth” that his influence will engender for generations to come. If you are a fan of Oscar Peterson, Milt Jackson and Ray Brown, you will enjoy Renaissance.|09 - Renaissance- A Tribute to Oscar Peterson - What If|08 - Renaissance- A Tribute to Oscar Peterson - Elegy for Emmanuel|10 - Renaissance- A Tribute to Oscar Peterson - Slick

Everything I Love

Jazz pianist and composer Gary Motley teams with a group of stellar musicians to explore the many facets of swing on his newest recording, Everything I Love. Here Motley reunites with two of his long time associates, drummer Pete Siers and bassist Paul Keller. The three comprised the rhythm section for guitarist Russell Malone's 1994 CD, Black Butterfly. This project marks the first time the trio has played together since that time. In fact, most of the songs included on this recording are first takes and represent the first time that these musicians have played together in over ten years! It is obvious upon first listening that their chemistry and mutual musical respect has endured the passage of time. Vocalist Veronica Motley, bassist Neal Starkey and drummer Clay Hulet join Motley to complete this tour de force of swing.|02 The Touch Of Your Lips|07 A New Song|10 I Could Write A Book
