Jazz on the Lawn at Callanwolde. The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center presents the Gary Motley Quartet. A favorite at Callanwolde, you won’t want to miss this special performance. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or a blanket and a picnic and enjoy this special concert under the stars. In case of rain, the concert will be moved to Callanwolde’s indoor Courtyard. Parking is free and on-site. Tickets are sold at the door: $15 General; $12 Students/Seniors/Members. For more information call 404-872-5338.

Ocsar Peterson Tribute CD. Now available, Renaissance: a Tribute to Oscar Peterson. This recording features original compositions by pianist/composer Gary Motley dedicated to the legendary Oscar Peterson. Motley is joined by saxophonist, clarinetist victor Goines. ROA Jazz Vespers. Join pianist Gary Motley and vocalist Veronica Motley as they host the spring jazz vespers service at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church on Sunday May 17th at 5:30 PM. Located at 5135 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, Georgia, the event is free and open to the public.

 

Festival of Homiletics. The Atlanta Jazz Chorus under the direction of Dwight Andrews will participate in the Festival of Homiletics in honor of Archbishop Desmond Tutu on Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. For more info click here.

 

ACJC Jazz Vespers. Gary Motley joins Dwight Andrews and the Atlanta Jazz Chorus for their jazz vespers program on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at 125 Ellist Street in Downtown Atlanta and is free to the public.

 

Joe Gransden Big Band. Gary Motley joins trumpeter/vocalist Joe Gransden and a smokin’ 16 piece Big Band for a swingin’ evening of Jazz at Café 290. You'll hear arrangements from the songbooks of Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Count Basie, Ray Charles and others along w/Joe's originals. Monday, June 1st at 8:30 PM at Café 290.

 

Majestic Piano CD Available. MCG Records has released its latest solo piano project entitled Majestic Piano. The recording features the unique treatment of sacred hymns by pianist Gary Motley. Now available at MCG Records.

 

ROA Jazz Vespers CD Available. The ROA Jazz Vespers CD is available for purchase. The recording features sacred standards and arrangements of many jazz favorites. The recording features Gary Motley and Veronica Motley with Gordon Vernick, E.J. Hughes, Neal Starkey, Clay Hulet and special guest Victor Goines.
